Launch of the SWEET CoSi WeDoEnergy community

About WeDoEnergy

WeDoWind is a thriving community of diverse people from the wind energy sector sharing data and knowledge and learning from each other openly. On the WeDoWind platform, we run data science challenges to promote data sharing and open innovation. We also run several working groups developing information models and data sharing guidelines, where contributers can shape the future of the energy transition. With WeDoEnergy, we are expanding this idea to the energy sector.

About SWEET CoSi

CoSi is a research project sponsored by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy’s “SWEET” programme (Call 1-2022)and hosted by the University of Basel. The project focuses on the interactions between society and the energy system. For this purpose, different social research areas (economics, social sciences and humanities) are connected with engineering energy modeling and a direct exchange with relevant stakeholders is established. Together, various scenarios are to be tested and models developed that could lead to socially desirable visions of the future.

About the SWEET CoSi WeDoEnergy community

As part of the Swiss-funded SWEET CoSi project, we are pleased to announce the first activity on the new WeDoEnergy platform! It is available to internal and external collaborators. You can do the following:

  • SWEET CoSi brown bag talks: Access the event invitations, recordings and discussions of the SWEET CoSi brown bag talks - regular presentations by researchers and practitioners related to Co-Evolution and Coordinated Simulation of the Swiss Energy System and Swiss Society.

  • CoSi Challenges:Take part in CoSi Challenges - challenges, activities and tasks aimed at supporting and motivation collaboration within and beyond the consortium.

  • CoSi Deep Dives: Learn about and join the SWEET CoSi Deep Dive projects.

Why join?

  • Connect across the energy transition: WeDoEnergy brings together researchers, practitioners, and organizations working on the Swiss energy system and society — giving you direct access to a community that spans disciplines, institutions, and perspectives you might not otherwise encounter.

  • Stay close to the science: Through the SWEET CoSi brown bag talks, you get first-hand access to ongoing research on the co-evolution and coordinated simulation of the Swiss energy system — not just the published outcomes, but the discussions, questions, and ideas as they develop.

  • Learn by doing: The CoSi Challenges turn open questions into hands-on activities, giving you a concrete way to contribute your expertise, test ideas, and collaborate with others inside and outside the consortium — rather than just observing from the sidelines.

  • Get early insight into Deep Dive projects: Following and joining the SWEET CoSi Deep Dive projects means you can engage with focused research efforts as they unfold, contributing your own knowledge while learning from others tackling similar problems.

  • Help shape how we work together: WeDoEnergy gives you a voice in how openness, collaboration, and data sharing take root across the broader energy sector.

  • Be part of something built on open exchange: Whether you're affiliated with the SWEET CoSi consortium or simply interested in the future of the Swiss energy system, joining WeDoEnergy means becoming part of a community that believes progress happens faster — and better — when knowledge is shared openly.
